MEDICARE PLANS

Confused about your medicare plan options? You're not alone. It's complicated.  I'm here to help you go over your options and help you pick the best plan to meet your needs and budget. Whether you're better off with just original medicare, a medicare advantage plan or a  medicare supplement (medigap) plans A-N, I'll go over all of them with you and help you with your decision.  As an independent agent  I have lots of companies for you to choose from including Aetna, BlueCross Blue Shield of Ga, Cigna HealthCare, Combined, Coventry, Equitable, Humana,  Manhattan Life, Omaha Life, State Mutual, United HealthCare,  United American and more.

If you're still working, I'll help you decide whether you're better off staying with your employer's plan or enrolling in a Medicare plan which could reduce your premiums and lower your copays, deductibles, coinsurance and out of pocket exposure. I just recently saved a retiree $360 a month while helping her get better coverage.

Give me a call and I'll answer any question you have and if needed arrange a one-on-one appointment at my office or in the convenience of your home. I look forward to working with you.

Life Insurance

There are two basic kinds of life insurance, term and various types of permanent policies.  With term insurance you purchase coverage for a set number of years and then the policy expires. It's sort of like renting a house instead of buying one. You build up no equity with a term policy. The premiums are relatively cheap allowing young people to buy a lot of coverage for a small premium and is great for young families that need a lot of coverage when they have children still in the home.

Permanent insurance, when designed properly, are expected to last your life and eventually pay a death benefit to your selected beneficiaries. The premiums are higher than term as you are not only paying for the pure death risk but also additional funds to build up equity (also called cash value) in the policy.

My favorite type of permanent life insurance is a Indexed Universal Life policy. When structured right these can allow you to be your own bank or you can use it for tax-free retirement funds. Your equity grows based on a selected stock market index like the S&P 500 where you share most of the increases but never any of the decreases. Every family should consider having one of these in their financial plan.
